Why Bearish AI: what we do that other training data providers don’t
Most providers sell answers. We sell the work behind them, plus a way to check it.
There are four common ways to get training data for AI agents today. Each one is useful. Each one leaves a gap. Bearish AI was built to fill the gap they share.
The four ways most data gets made
| Approach | What you get | What’s missing |
|---|---|---|
| Contractor marketplaces | Fresh tasks written by hired experts, fast | Real organizational context. Contractors write tasks about work they didn’t live through. |
| Synthetic generation | Huge volume at low cost | Real mistakes. A model can only generate what it already knows. |
| Scraped public data | Real code and text at scale | Freshness. If it’s public, models may have seen it, answers included. |
| App clones | Replicas of famous apps to practice in | The unfamiliar. Agents learn the tools everyone already knows. |
Industry researchers name scaling task creation without losing quality as the main operational bottleneck for environment builders, and robustness against reward hacking as the top quality bar. Those are exactly the two places shortcuts show up.
What we do differently
- The only practice environment with its own history. The Workshop is Bearish OS, the real platform we built and ran for 500+ teams, re-tooled for agents. It comes with every spec, discussion, bug and fix behind it, so an agent learns why the software works the way it does, not just where to click. No customer data is included. Agents learn the software, never the people who used it.
- Real commercial history, not reconstructions. Our lessons come from six years and three generations of Bearish OS, an internationally deployed enterprise platform that serves 500+ teams and thousands of users across the United States, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and Europe. Every spec, chat thread, design note, review, build and fix is still on record.
- Never public. Our source work was never on the open web. A model can’t have memorized the answer to a lesson that was never published.
- Graded by the real thing. Code tasks are rebuilt from version control and checked with the project’s own build and tests, plus hidden tests the agent never sees. Workshop tasks are graded on the final state of the system, never on what the agent says.
- A real system to practice in. The Workshop is Bearish OS itself, running as a sandboxed, resettable environment. Not a lookalike of a famous app. Exactly the kind of internal software agents meet at real companies.
- Business operations, not just code. Our Guild makes original business scenarios in finance, accounting, procurement, logistics, sales, customer service and administration, written by professionals across the Middle East and North Africa in Arabic, formal and dialect, and the English, French and German the region trades in.
- Finished training, not hours. We deliver graded scenarios, environments and data cards in batches, ready to train on. Not a bench of contractors to manage.
Why the history matters
Final code tells a model what was built. History tells it why. In a typical Bearish lesson, a team makes a decision in chat, the code drifts from it, a reviewer flags the drift, and the bug surfaces later. A model that sees all four steps learns something no single file can teach: how good work goes wrong, and how it gets fixed.
Because Bearish OS was rebuilt three times, many features exist in three different architectures. That lets a model compare designs for the same problem and see why each one changed.
What you can buy
- Technical sample pack: available now under NDA, with provenance, a data specification, example tasks and verification evidence.
- The Journal: first release in preparation, 1,500 lessons, each one feature traced from idea to production.
- The Exams: 600 fail-to-pass task candidates in validation, across three difficulty tiers.
- The Workshop: Bearish OS as a graded practice environment for computer-use agents, available now.
- The Guild: original Arabic-first business scenarios, tasks and evaluations made by professionals across the Gulf, Egypt and North Africa and delivered in batches, taking pilot projects now.
- The Device-to-Cloud Engineering Corpus: the complete, anonymized engineering record of a connected personal-safety device, from circuit board and firmware to mobile app and cloud, with verified, runnable coding tasks (an entry tier for fine-tuning and warm-up evaluation). Available for licensing on request.
Non-exclusive licensing is available where the relevant rights permit, with exclusive terms by agreement. Only validated material is licensed, and every release ships with a data card that documents what is inside, how it was made and what was removed.
Questions we get
- Is Bearish AI data synthetic?
- No. The Journal and the Exams come from real engineering work on Bearish OS, a commercial product. Guild data is original work created by human professionals. The only fictional material is the clearly labeled demonstrations on our public samples page.
- How do you protect the people in your data?
- Every person is replaced by a stable role pseudonym. Secrets, credentials and customer details are removed in two passes, automated scanning and then human review. Rights, confidentiality and licensing terms are reviewed separately for every release.
- Can models have seen your data before?
- Our source work was never published on the open web, which removes the main route for benchmark contamination.
- How do I get samples?
- Email data@bearishfh.com with the subject “Sample pack request.” Licensed partners receive real, pseudonymized lessons under NDA.
